3.Icy Strait River Fishing & Wildlife Search

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 14 reviews · 4 hours (approx.) · from $400

Spend about four hours fishing salmon, Dolly Varden Char, and trout near Hoonah with a professional guide. You’ll ride through Southeast Alaska rainforest, hike to a spawning stream, and fish with your own rod, reel, and wading gear. Choose spinning or fly fishing, while keeping watch for brown bears and bald eagles.

“My family had a great time on this excursion. Our guide was very knowledgeable and took good care of us. The equipment was great and all provided for us. We had to drive a ways to get to the stream but we enjoyed the scenery. The salmon were a little late this year so we didn't get to fish for any but had good luck with other fish. The rains the night before caused the river to run very high and our guide almost had to cancel but he made it work despite the conditions and we enjoyed ourselves. It would have been smart to bring a change of clothes…”
